Custom apps are applications that are written to solve the specific business use cases of a particular account. For example, a custom ERP implementation within the company for the given contact or assisting the sales agent to raise a request for the given deal. There are two types of custom apps that can be launched from Freshsales:

  1. Full page placeholder app - These apps don’t have any context from a specific record by default. They run as standalone apps within the app.

  1.  Entity placeholder app - An app that will have context of the record it is currently running on.

Click here to know more on placeholder apps.

Within the Freshsales mobile app, you can launch custom apps from four different locations:

  1. From the home page, you can launch the full page app.

  1. From a contact detail page, you can launch an Entity placeholder app that can access information such as phone number, email address, account name etc. from the contact record.

  1. From an account detail page, you can launch an Entity placeholder app that can access information such as company name, website from the account record.

  2. From a deal detail page, you can launch an Entity placeholder app that can access information such as deal name, deal value from the deal record.

Here are some pointers to create a custom app that works well on Freshsales mobile app:

  1. Ensure that you build an app which is responsive to mobile devices.

  2. Update apps that run on entity detail page placeholders to support a vertical orientation that is commonly found on mobile devices. Click here to follow instructions available for Mobile device detection.

  3. To test your app on a mobile device, you can initially try to load the web view on a mobile browser. Once you have tested it, you can package and submit as a custom app.

  4. Once the app has been submitted, you can drop us an email at crm-support@freshworks.com to test and whitelist your application.

  5. Internal support teams can raise a ticket on behalf of the customers through the support portal with the category as Mobile.
