Modifying a Group/Subgroup:

  1. Edit group properties:

  • Renaming

  • Changing its function: Group/sub-group

  • Reordering

     2.   Delete a group/sub-group:


  • All groups including Basic Information and Additional Information can be renamed.

  • To delete a group or a sub-group, it needs to be empty, i.e: it shouldn’t have any fields listed under it.

Here’s how you modify a group:

  1. Login to Freshsales as an administrator.

  2. Go to Admin Settings > Custom fields and select the entity you want to modify (Lead fields / Contact fields / Account fields / Deal fields).

     a. Edit group:

          1. Click the edit icon present against a group. The edit group overlay appears.

          2. To rename, change the Group name. All groups can be renamed.

          3. You can make a group into a sub-group or vice versa based on your Nested 

              under field. To create it as a, 

              Group: Leave this field empty

              Sub-group: Choose a group under which it needs to appear 

          4.  Hit Save.

          5. Reorder: You can rearrange the sequence of the groups and sub-groups by just

             dragging and reordering them accordingly. 

      b. Delete group: Before you attempt to delete a group/sub-group, delete or move all 

          the fields elsewhere. Only empty groups/sub-groups can be deleted. If not an 

          error message pops up:

          Here’s how you do it,

          - Click the Delete button. You can't delete non-empty groups or sub-groups.            

          - Upon your confirmation, the custom group is deleted permanently from
