The deal stage is quite similar to the lead stage, except that it is used for sales opportunities. When you create a deal for an account, you can start tracking the various stages of the deal to give you a clear picture of the deals that are likely to close and the ones that are not.

To customize deal stages,
- Login to your Freshsales account as an Administrator.
- Go to Admin Settings > Custom fields > Pipelines.
- You may edit an existing pipeline or create a new one. 
- Populate the stages and reorder them as required. 
- Once you are done, choose to save it by clicking the tick button. 
- All saved changes are reflected in the deals tab. 
Note:
| - Won and Lost are default stages in every pipeline.- There is no cap on the number of stages per pipeline. But, at least a minimum of 3 stages is mandatory(inclusive of Won & Lost). - If you are a Sprout, Blossom or Garden user, you can customize the deal stages of the default pipeline. | 
Can I have two similar stages for a given pipeline?
No! Each stage in a pipeline should have a unique name.
