When you connect your email with Freshsales, your account starts to receive emails and associates them with relevant leads or contacts within Freshsales. Use historical import to bring in past email conversations (both sent and received) related to your records. 

Here’s how you can set up historical import:

Note: You can set up sync settings for your profile only once. 

  1. Click Edit Sync Settings. This brings up the SYNC SETTINGS section where you can configure the historical sync.

  2. Choose the date range until which you wish to sync your emails. The date range depends on your plan. You can choose between the following:
      1. Upto 1 month *(Garden and above plans) 

      2. Upto 3 months (Garden and above plans)

      3. Upto 6 months (Estate and above plans)

      4. Upto 12 months (Only Forest plan)

      5. Off

  3. Clickto commence the sync.

This commences the import. All emails (including attachments) for the configured date range will be pulled into Freshsales. Once the import of historical emails is complete, you will receive an email and in-app notification. You can also find the status of the sync under the HISTORICAL SYNC OF EMAILS section. It will contain the date range of the sync and the last sync time. 


  • There is an upper limit of 10000 emails while pulling historical import data. Once the limit is reached, the sync will be stopped.

  • During trial, when the inbox is connected, emails from the last 4 days will be pulled into Freshsales.  

  • Historical sync is limited to only once for one mailbox in the same account. When a mailbox is disconnected and then reconnected again, Freshsales checks if the historical import is already done for the mailbox in that particular account. If it has already been done, the historical import will not be done again.
