Why is number formatting required?
Representation of currency or volume (number of units sold) can be formatted, which enhances readability and comes in handy if you have customers across locations.
How does Freshsales support the formatting of numbers?
Freshsales supports multiple number formats followed in major parts of the world. Periods and commas can be used to separate decimal points. All custom fields of the type ‘number’ can be formatted.
The following formats are supported

9,999,999,999.99 | Used in North America, the UK, Southeast Asia, China, Japan and Australia. |
9.999.999.999,99 | Used in South America and some European countries |
9,99,99,99,999.99 | Used in India and Bangladesh |
9 999 999 999,99 | Used in most European countries |
How to format a number field?
Go to Admin settings
> CRM CUSTOMIZATION > Leads/Contacts/Accounts/Deals ModuleClick
. In the ADD FIELD overlay that opens up, choose Number 
and click 
In the ADD FIELD overlay that appears, type the name of the desired custom field
Type in the desired Field label
Retain the value as Number under Field type
