Sales cycle and velocity reports help sales managers identify bottlenecks in the sales process. With this insight, they can guide their sales team to not only close more deals but also do it faster

We have four default reports to help you analyse your team’s performance and try and drill down to the exact reasons of a performance dip.

Let’s look at how each of these default reports would help!

  1. Sales cycle report:

This report provides insights on:

  • The number of deals won by each sales rep in a given timeframe.

  • The average time each sales rep takes to successfully close a deal.

You can either edit this report to suit your business flow or create one from scratch.

To use this report,

  1. Login to Freshsales. Go to Reports > Deals

  2. Click Sales Cycle Reports from the list of default reports.

  3. Two sections appear:

            - Listing all the filter conditions and metrics of the report

            - The next section showing your team’s sales cycle data in a tabular format.

  1. You can use this report, or click Edit report option to change the metrics and filters to suit your sales flow.

  2. To know more on what each field in the edit report window means, click here.

For ex, say Lisdon and Terry are two sales reps working for the same region. With this report you can see that despite both closing the same number of deals in this month, Terry closes a deal much quicker on an average(1 day) than Lisdon(3 days). This insight is of great help in a monthly sales huddle to guide a few to ramp up and close quicker and eventually more deals too.

2. Sales velocity report:

Sales Velocity reports help you figure out finer details like,

  • The average number of days a deal remained in a stage

(Say for ex, you find a certain deal in the 'follow-up' stage for a long time. You can now suggest a work around to the concerned sales rep on how best to follow up deals with this report)
